In order to find loads on the DAT load board if have a regular pickup truck, you will need to have a trailer to hook up to.  Most drivers choose a flatbed hotshot trailer (eg. 20 foot flatbed).  Having a trailer and posting the type of trailer you have will give you access to loads that can be hauled by a regular pickup truck.
